# Rate Limits

### What are the rate limits?

Rate limits keep the API fast for everyone. Limits apply per API key. The daily quota is shared across endpoints. Search and lookup have their own rate.

| Plan | Most endpoints | Search and image search | Lookup | Daily quota |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| `default` | 10/s | 10/s | 5/s | 10,000 |
| `plus` | 25/s | 15/s | 5/s | 250,000 |
| `high` | 40/s | 25/s | 10/s | 1,000,000 |
| `no-limit` | 60/s | 40/s | 15/s | none |

Search and image search covers `POST /v0/search`, `POST /v1/search`, `POST /v1/image-search`, and `POST /experimental/find-products-in-image`. Lookup is `POST /v1/lookup`. New API keys start on `default`.

A rate limit returns `429 Too Many Requests` with `Retry-After: 5`. Wait that long, then retry.

Client tokens used by the [Conversational Agent](/conversations/rate-limits) have their own per-token caps.
